Merle Information
Stetson and Splash are half brothers so when they have puppies we will get a variety of looks. *** Don't forget  the  mom to the puppies will also add qualities to the puppy. Each puppy born will be unique.

How does getting a puppy work? When you see a puppy that you like marked available just email. It's just that easy!

One question we have been asked alot is "Will you be keeping any?" yes, yes, yes of course =  ) We may occasionally keep one.

Will my merle be full AKC registered? yes our merles come with full AKC registration rights unless otherwise stated.

Where am I on the waiting list? There isn't one since we are no longer taking deposits.
Who do I send the deposit too? We are no longer accepting deposits for the merles. They are placed on a first come basis upon approval of your puppy application. You can go to my email me button at the bottom of this page to contact me. Or click the blue email me words and away you go.

Do you breed merle to merle? NO,NO,NO breeding merle to merle causes terrible genetic problems. For the health of our chihuahuas we will not do it. When you are thinking about buying a merle always do your homework and be sure to research and see if the puppy your purchasing is from a merle to merle breeding. Ask if the puppy's parents are from a merle to merle breeding, grandparents, etc.....? Their can be very serious genetic problems when breeding merle to merle. I have done a lot of research and continue to do research on the  color. If you breed, please breed responsibly! ALSO do not breed merle with brindles. That would cause a confusion by not knowing what the puppies are when they are born. This confusion will be passed on to all the future breedings from generation to generation..

** Here is a little genetic talk AN "mm" dog is normal color (no merleing). A "Mm" is a merled. But an "MM" dog is considered a double merle and has has much more white that is normal for the breed. Double merles are also known as a lethal gene because when breeding Merle to Merle you will produce puppies that may have hearing loss, vision problems including small or missing eyes, and possible infertility.
So why take a chance of producing puppies with fatal or debilitating illnesses? If you want merle puppies with no defects (given that both sire and dam are genetically sound to begin with) then it is safer to breed merle to a solid non-merle color.
